Numerical analysis of on-chip microdroplet electroporation

【Abstract】 

The on-chip microdroplet electroporation process is a new DNA introduction method, which aims to improve the efficiency of iPS cell establishment by sealing cells and DNA into microdroplets. In designing a microfluidic device to perform the process, numerical analysis is necessary to support the search for the flow and electric field conditions under which DNA introduction can be achieved. In this presentation, we will report the computational results of the droplet formation and the membrane electron permeabilization process included in the process. The research environment at the KOSEN will also be explained.
