概要
A method of electrochemical machining (ECM) with peak-changed voltage pulse was proposed to solve the problem of the difficult discharging of by-products from the inter-electrode gap area in traditional electrochemical machining. In order to investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method, multiphysics models coupling with the electric field and gas-liquid two-phase flow field were established and simulated with COMSOL in ECM with traditional peak-fixed voltage pulse and with proposed peak-changed voltage pulse. Compared to traditional pulsed ECM, the simulation results show that peak-changed voltage pulse exhibits higher velocity fluctuations of liquid flow and bubble generation rates in the inter-electrode gap area in ECM with peak-changed voltage pulse, due to promotion of the discharge of electrolytic products in the machining gap.
